1.:期刊论文比学位论文短很多,因此需要比较紧密的架构跟紧凑的风格。学位论文可能长达百页超过两万字,但期刊论文根据领域常规和期刊规定,大约在 3000 到6000 字之间。

2.:期刊论文的摘要一般介于 150 至250 字之间。但学位论文的摘要比较长,大概是 350 字。仔细阅读目标期刊的规定,有些期刊会要求结构式摘要,而有些不会。

3.:学位论文通常有比较详细的前言,因为学生需要展现出自己对领域内既有文献的熟悉度,在前言进行广泛的文献回顾。但在期刊论文中,文献回顾比较简洁,只要包含可以带出文献与研究间差距的信息就可以了。

4.:学位论文的材料与方法章节通常对研究切入点和方法进行广泛的讨论,但期刊论文需要比较节制的方法叙述:你只要叙述使用的方法的细节、进行的实验,不需要对研究切入点进行完整的讨论。

5.:学位论文会将所有的结果详尽的写出来,但是期刊论文只要写出主要发现就好。事实上,因为学生经验不足或是过度解读,他们在学位论文中的结果经常不够有力。

6.:学位论文的讨论章节依然是比较详细,对每一个结果都提出完整的阐释,显示出学生对自己的数据有全面的了解。学生还需要在学位论文中表示自己的未来研究方向。期刊论文的讨论章节则要清楚到位,不要在这个章节重复前面已经说过的研究结果。

7.:学位论文通常有很长的引用清单,有时候甚至有目录。不过,期刊论文的引用数量有限,参考文献章节只包含文章中引用过的工作即可。

2.现在时-通常在目标中使用的时态

Example 1:

Active: This study develops an efficient methodology to examine a space–timecontinuous dataset for urban irrigation water use.

3.现在完成时-通常在概论,讨论和总结中使用的时态

Example 1:

Active: Previous studies have used comparative analysis of ORF2 sequences toelucidate phylogenetic relationships among different FCV isolates.

4.过去时:通常用于材料与方法/结果

Example 1:

Active: We determined the presence of larvae by dip netting.

Passive: The presence of larvae was determined by dip netting.

Active: We evaluated the number of haplotypes (h), haplotypes (Hd), andnucleotides (π) using the DnaSP 5.10 program [3].
